linkedSignal Enters Developer Preview
The release of Angular 19 is scheduled for Tuesday, November 19th. The week leading up to it was relatively quiet, with one notable exception: linkedSignal is bypassing the experimental phase and will be introduced directly as a developer preview feature.
Highlights from Angular Camp
During Angular Camp, Alex Okrushko presented the NgRx SignalStore from a fresh angle. He emphasized that the library’s functional architecture, which avoids class-based patterns, is what enables its high degree of extensibility. In a separate session, Gerome Grignon tackled image optimization, offering practical advice on how to boost performance through better handling of media files.
TypeScript 5.7 Reaches Release Candidate
The TypeScript team has announced the release candidate for version 5.7, which means the feature set is now locked in. This update introduces ES2024 support, including utility methods like Object.groupBy, though these additions are unlikely to change the daily experience of Angular developers.
An important compatibility note: Angular 19 will initially ship without support for TypeScript 5.7. However, it is quite probable that compatibility will be introduced through a minor release during the Angular 19 support window.
